Who operates the service

Siamese Cat Cafe Company Limited operates Best Deal Bangkok, including www.bestdealbangkok.com and the Best Deal Bangkok Android and iOS apps. In this policy, “we” means that company. Contact us at contact@bestdealbangkok.com about privacy or your data.

The apps provide access to our website services. This policy covers the information handled through those services as well as the device storage described below. You may browse public listings and guides without creating an account.

Accounts and sign-in

If you register, we process your email address, display name, account identifier and password for sign-in, verification, recovery and account management. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Session cookies and related storage keep you signed in. Better Auth provides self-hosted authentication; verification and password-reset email is delivered through Resend.

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the account identifier, name, email, profile image and verification status needed for sign-in. We request the basic OpenID Connect scopes openid, email, and profile, not access to Gmail, Drive or Contacts. Provider credentials returned for account handling are kept server-side. We do not sell Google sign-in information or use it for advertising or AI training.

Contributions, saved items and support

We process the profile details, stories, reviews, comments, likes, saved items, reports, correction requests and support messages you choose to submit. If you attach photos or files through an available contribution, verification or support feature, we process the uploaded content and accompanying information for that purpose. Public contributions can display your public profile name and content after the applicable moderation process. Account credentials and private reports are not public. Information you deliberately include in public content may be visible to other people and search engines.

If you use merchant services, we process the business contact details, claims and verification evidence you submit. Private ownership evidence is restricted to the relevant claim and authorized staff. Business verification and ownership are separate from community ratings.

Service operation and security

Our servers and providers receive technical connection information, such as an IP address, browser or device information and requested resources, to deliver pages and protect the service. We may derive keyed pseudonymous network and first-party browser signals to prevent abuse. Raw IP addresses are excluded from product analytics. This does not mean that network providers never receive IP addresses or that infrastructure logs contain no connection information.

The current native apps do not request camera, microphone, contacts, photo-library or precise-location permissions. Selecting a district, viewing a business map or saving a place does not provide us with your phone’s GPS location. Directions, telephone, email and external links may open another app or website, which handles information under its own policy.

First-party product analytics

Best Deal Bangkok uses allowlisted events to understand public discovery and product use. These can include page interactions, searches or filter interactions, campaign information, technical browser categories and selected signed-in conversions. Relevant first-party events may be associated with your BDB account; this is separate from Google Analytics.

You can switch first-party analytics off in Privacy and data choices at https://www.bestdealbangkok.com/account/privacy. The existing service preference is enabled unless you switch it off. We do not use device fingerprinting, cross-site advertising trackers or precise GPS location for this measurement. We do not automatically subscribe you to marketing email when you register.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 measures public page use only after you allow it. It uses analytics cookies and technical browser information, such as browser and device categories, to measure visits and interactions. Google may derive broad geographic information from a network connection; we do not send precise GPS coordinates.

Our integration sends the public page path, a generic page-type title and, when available, an app/browser surface category. We exclude query strings, fragments, search text, email addresses, BDB account IDs and private account, merchant and moderation page URLs from the explicit page-view payload. External referrers are reduced to their origin. Advertising storage, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. We do not use this integration to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

You can decline Google Analytics without losing public browsing, registration or coupon access. Change your decision in Privacy and data choices. Turning it off stops future collection by this integration and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for our domain; it does not retroactively erase information already received by Google. Contact us for an access or deletion request. Your selection applies to the current browser/app storage; another browser or app may ask separately.

Storage on your device

The website uses cookies and local browser storage for sessions, privacy choices and preferences. On Android, the browser that provides the app’s web experience manages this storage; it may share the same site storage with ordinary browsing in that browser.

On iOS, the web experience uses persistent WKWebView storage. The separate My visit list stores up to 100 public restaurant page titles, links and save dates in the app’s local preferences. That native list is not uploaded by the visit-list feature and is separate from your account’s saved places. Delete an item by swiping it in My visit list. Device backups may include app preferences according to your device settings; we do not provide an app-managed cloud synchronization service for this list. Titles and links can be read offline, but opening a listing requires internet.

You can manage website data through the applicable browser or device controls. Removing the app is not an account-deletion request and may not remove site data held by an Android browser or an existing backup.

Providers and disclosure

We use Hostinger for hosting, Neon for the database, Resend for account email, Google for optional sign-in and Google Analytics, and the device’s browser or web engine to display content. Providers process information needed for their roles. Services may process information outside Thailand.

We may disclose information when needed to operate a requested service, investigate abuse, resolve a dispute or meet an applicable legal obligation. Published business details and public community contributions are visible according to their publication state. We do not sell personal information. Optional marketing email is a separate choice from registration and analytics; you can change it in the privacy controls.

Retention

We keep active account records to provide the account and service, subject to deletion requests and justified exceptions. Community content, ownership evidence, moderation and dispute records follow their applicable service and review lifecycle.

Our first-party retention settings provide 12 months for routine detailed analytics, up to 24 months for selected user-linked conversions and daily rollups, and 180 days for routine abuse signals. The published retention baseline provides up to 30 days for any sanitized search text and up to seven years for anonymized monthly aggregates. Expired records are removed through data-maintenance procedures, subject to documented holds. These are retention limits and procedures, not a promise that a timed deletion job runs at every expiry instant.

GA4 event/user-level retention is set to two months, with reset on new activity disabled. This setting does not give all Google aggregate reports a two-month lifetime. Device preferences remain until you change or remove them through the relevant controls, subject to backups. Limited records may be retained longer for documented legal, security or dispute reasons. Backups and provider records may require a separate removal cycle.

Access, correction and deletion

Use Privacy and data choices to request access, correction or deletion of your BDB account and associated data. Sign-in may be needed to verify the account. If you cannot sign in or have removed the app, email contact@bestdealbangkok.com with the subject “Best Deal Bangkok account deletion” or describe the other privacy request. Include your account email so we can identify it; do not send your password or unnecessary identity documents.

Ordinary member accounts can be deleted after identity confirmation in Privacy and data choices. This removes the account, sessions, contributions, media and linked analytics from active storage. Business/staff accounts, billing records and documented holds require authorized staff review. See https://www.bestdealbangkok.com/account-deletion for the steps and provider/backup exceptions. A support request itself does not immediately delete records. We explain any required retention and do not require you to reinstall the app to contact us.

Policy changes

We will update the public policy when our practices change and identify the revision date. If a change requires a new permission or consent, we will seek it through the appropriate service controls.
